In this lesson, we will learn how to conjugate the other two types of verbs, -ER and -IR verbs. We will finish by learning a few verbs that we can practice the conjugation rules on.

[SLIDE 1]
Now we will look at the -er verb endings
For yo, again the ending is 'o'
For tú, it's 'es'
For Él, ella, o usted - it's 'e'
For Nosotros o nosotras - it's 'emos'
For Ellos, ellas, o ustedes - it's 'en'
So, we'll quickly run through the conjugations of the verb comer, which means "to eat"
First, we take off the -er to get the stem.
So, yo C-O-M, appropriate ending, como
Tú, C-O-M, comes
Él, ella o usted come
Nosotros comemos
Ellos, ellas o ustedes comen
[SLIDE 2]
Let's look at the -ir verb endings
The endings for the -ir verbs are identical to those for the -er verbs, with the exception of nosotros.
So we'll write out the endings here quickly.
Yo - o
Tú - es
Él, ella o usted - e
Nosotros o nosotras - imos (note that for the -er verbs, it was emos)
Ellos, ellas, o ustedes - en
Let's conjugate the verb 'subir', which means 'to climb' or 'to go up'
So we take off the -ir and we add on the appropriate endings.
Yo subo
Tú subes
Él, ella o usted sube
Nosotros subimos
Ellos, ellas o ustedes suben
As you can see, all we did was to take the appropriate endings from the list above and add them on to the verb's stem.
